The Tissimo Classroom — Teacher Overview

Tissimo has its own built-in virtual classroom — you don't need Zoom, Google Meet, or any external tool. Everything you need to teach a live 1-on-1 lesson is available directly in the Tissimo platform.

How to Enter the Classroom

A Join button appears on your upcoming lesson card (in your dashboard or Lessons view) starting a few minutes before the lesson's scheduled start time. Click Join to enter the classroom. Your student enters through the same button on their end. The session begins when both parties have joined. For a step-by-step walkthrough on joining, see getting into your classroom.

Classroom Tools

The Tissimo classroom includes a set of built-in teaching tools accessible from the toolbar during a session:

Sheet Music Display

Upload or select sheet music to display to both you and your student simultaneously. You can scroll through pages and zoom in so your student can follow along in real time. Your full sheet music collection is accessible via your sheet library.

Drawing Pad

The drawing pad is a shared whiteboard where you can sketch diagrams, write out theory concepts, illustrate fingering positions, or annotate musical ideas. Both teacher and student can draw on it simultaneously.

Metronome

The built-in metronome plays audibly for both parties in the session. Set the tempo using the BPM controls, choose a time signature, and start or stop it as needed during practice sections of the lesson.

Visual Instrument

The visual instrument tool displays an interactive on-screen instrument (such as a piano keyboard or guitar fretboard) that you can use to demonstrate notes, chords, or scales visually when a physical demonstration isn't possible on camera.

Audio and Video Controls

Your microphone and camera controls are in the bottom bar of the classroom. You can mute/unmute your microphone and turn your camera on or off at any time. If you're experiencing audio or video issues, use the settings icon (gear) to select a different input device or test your connection. Ending a Lesson

When the lesson is complete, click the leave classroom button (the exit icon in the lower-right corner of the classroom). You'll be prompted to confirm before the lesson ends. The lesson is then marked as completed in your records, and earnings for the session are processed.

Sending Lesson Notes

After a lesson, you can send lesson notes to your student. Lesson notes are a summary of what was covered, practice recommendations, and anything the student should focus on before the next session. Your student receives the notes in their Tissimo account and by email. You can write notes in the classroom's Notes panel during the lesson, or add them later from your Notes page. Frequently Asked Questions

What if my student can't hear the metronome?

The metronome isn't transmitted through your microphone — it plays directly on your student's device and stays in sync automatically. Make sure Play for student is enabled in the metronome panel and that your student's volume is up.

Can I share my screen in the classroom?

Screen sharing availability depends on your current classroom version. Check the toolbar during a session for a screen share option.

What happens if I lose my connection mid-lesson?

Rejoin the classroom using the same Join button from your Schedule or Lessons page. The session remains open for a short window to allow reconnection. If the connection issue is prolonged, contact Tissimo support to ensure the lesson is correctly recorded.
