Using Sheet Music During a Lesson

The Tissimo virtual classroom includes a built-in sheet music display so you and your teacher can view and share music in real time — no need to share a screen or hold pages up to your camera.

How Sheet Music Appears in the Classroom

Sheet music can be opened in the classroom by your teacher — or by you, if your teacher has turned on student participation. Once a piece is opened, it is shared to the other person's screen automatically, so you are both looking at the same piece. Each of you can then move through it at your own pace.

How Your Teacher Shares Sheet Music

Your teacher shares sheet music from the Music sheets panel in the classroom. The panel lists the pieces in their Tissimo sheet library, so if your teacher has prepared music for your lesson in advance, it is ready to open in seconds. During the lesson, your teacher can:

• Open any piece from their sheet library, including PDFs they have uploaded to it
• Search the list by title to find a piece quickly
• Switch between pieces during the lesson as needed

When your teacher opens a new piece, it appears on your screen automatically.

Following Along as a Student

Once sheet music is displayed, you can move through pages at your own pace. Use the page controls at the bottom of the sheet music panel to move forward or backward, or type a page number to jump straight to it. Page turns are not synchronized — you and your teacher each control your own view, so you can stay on a passage as long as you need.

Drawing and Notation Tools

The classroom does not currently support drawing directly on the shared sheet music. If your teacher wants to write out notation, exercises, or examples during the lesson, they can open the classroom's shared music notepad instead, which both of you see update in real time. Tips for the Best Experience

• If the sheet music is hard to read, use the maximize button at the top of the sheet panel to enlarge it.
• Use the page number box between the page arrows to jump straight to a specific page.
• You control your own pages, so take the time you need on each passage — your view won't change when your teacher turns a page.
• If a sheet fails to display, ask your teacher to re-share it.
