Sort Student Notes
When you have notes across many students, the sort feature helps you quickly find the student you are looking for or identify which students need more attention. Access this feature from the Student Notes tab.
Available Sort Options
- First Name — sorts students alphabetically by their first name.
- Last Name — sorts students alphabetically by their last name.
- Notes count — sorts students by how many notes exist for them, useful for spotting students with little documentation.
How to Sort
- Go to the Notes page and click Student Notes.
- Click one of the available sort options above the student list.
- The list will reorder immediately.
Reversing the Sort Order
After selecting a sort option, click the up/down arrows next to it to toggle between ascending and descending order. For example, sorting by Notes count in descending order puts the most-documented students first.
Tips
- Sort by Notes count ascending to quickly find students who have no notes yet — a good reminder to add a first entry.
- Combine sorting with the student search to navigate large rosters efficiently. To search for a specific student by name, see Search Your Students.
- See View Student Notes for more on browsing and reading your notes, or View Notes by Category to filter notes by topic.
