Stripe Onboarding — Common Questions

To receive lesson payouts on Tissimo, you need to complete Stripe onboarding. This process connects your identity and bank account through Stripe Connect. Below are answers to the most common questions teachers have about this process.

What Do I Need to Complete Onboarding?

You will need the following to finish the Stripe verification process:

  • Your legal name as it appears on official documents.
  • Your date of birth.
  • Your home address.
  • A valid government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID card).
  • Your bank account details (routing and account numbers) for receiving payouts.

Once you provide this information and accept Stripe's terms of service, your account is set up.

My Document Was Rejected — What Do I Do?

If Stripe rejects your identity document, it is usually because:

  • The image was blurry or cropped.
  • The document is expired.
  • The name on the document does not match what you entered.

Retake a clear photo of a valid, non-expired document and resubmit through the onboarding form. Make sure the entire document is visible and well-lit.

My Account Needs a Refresh

Sometimes Stripe requires updated information. If you see a message about refreshing your account, follow the prompts to provide any additional details. Tissimo provides dedicated refresh pages to walk you through the process.

How Long Does Verification Take?

Most verifications are completed within a few minutes. In some cases, Stripe may need additional time to review your documents. You will be notified once your account is fully verified and ready to receive payouts.
