Adding a Profile Cover Image
Your cover image is the large banner that appears at the top of your public teacher profile. It is the first visual impression a student gets when they click on your profile, so choosing a high-quality, relevant image makes a real difference.
How the Cover Image Appears to Students
The cover image spans the full width of your teacher profile page header. On desktop it spans the full width of the window at roughly 250 pixels tall, and on mobile it scales down proportionally. Your profile photo sits over the left side of the cover image, so avoid placing important content in that bottom-left region.
Recommended Image Specifications
- Dimensions: 1200×400 pixels (3:1 ratio). This gives you the sharpest result across all screen sizes.
- Minimum size: 900×300 pixels.
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, or WebP.
- File size limit: 5 MB.
Uploading Your Cover Image
- Open your Teacher Dashboard and click your profile image (or select Profile from the menu) to open your profile.
- Hover over the banner area at the top of the profile and click Change.
- Select your image file (up to 5 MB). The upload starts immediately — a progress bar shows while the image is uploaded and optimized.
- Once the upload completes, your new cover image appears on your profile automatically — no separate save step is needed.
Tips for a Professional Cover Image
- Use a musical subject: A photo of an instrument, a performance, sheet music, or a teaching moment works well. Avoid generic stock images that feel impersonal.
- Keep it uncluttered: Busy images with a lot of text or many objects look messy on smaller screens.
- Choose good lighting: Well-lit images look more professional and welcoming.
- Avoid heavy text overlay: Any text in the image may be partially hidden by your profile photo or the profile name overlay.
- Match your brand: If you have a consistent colour palette or logo, using complementary colours helps your profile feel cohesive.
While you're updating your profile visuals, consider also adding a profile video and reviewing your profile photo and display name.
Removing Your Cover Image
If you want to revert to the default cover, go to Edit Profile, hover over the banner, and click the trash icon. Tissimo will display the default cover image until you upload a new one.
