Adding Your Education and Experience

Students want to know they are learning from someone who has genuinely mastered their craft. Adding your education and experience to your Tissimo profile gives prospective students the confidence to book with you.

Why Credentials Matter

Profiles with completed education and experience sections receive significantly more bookings than those without. Even if you do not hold a formal degree, listing relevant certifications, notable performances, or years of private teaching demonstrates your expertise.

Adding Your Education

  1. Go to your Teacher Dashboard and click Edit Profile.
  2. Scroll to the Education and Certifications section and click Add education or certification.
  3. Fill in: School / Institution (e.g., Royal College of Music, Berklee College of Music); Degree type — choose from the dropdown (Associate, Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate, or Certification); Start and end month/year (or tick "Present" if you are currently studying); Description (optional — e.g., Classical Piano, Jazz Performance)
  4. Click Save to save your profile changes.

Repeat this process to add multiple qualifications. Your entries appear on your public profile in the order they are listed.

Adding Teaching and Performance Experience

  1. In the Edit Profile page, scroll to the Experience section and click Add experience.
  2. Fill in: Job role (e.g., Piano Teacher, Session Guitarist, Orchestral Violinist); Employer / Organization (e.g., a music school, studio, or orchestra); Start and end month/year (or tick "Present" if ongoing); Description (optional) — a brief sentence about what the role involved
  3. Click Save.

Add as many experience entries as are relevant. Aim for quality over quantity — three well-described entries are more convincing than ten vague ones.

How Credentials Appear on Your Profile

Your education and experience entries appear in a dedicated section on your public profile, clearly labelled and listed in order. Students can scan them at a glance. Qualifications from recognised institutions or awarding bodies are especially effective at building trust with parents booking lessons for their children. Use previewing your profile as a student to see exactly how your credentials appear to prospective students.

Editing or Removing an Entry

To update or delete any entry, return to Edit Profile, find the relevant section, and click the pencil icon to edit an entry — the Remove button inside the expanded entry deletes it. For a complete guide to setting up your profile, see profile creation.
