Writing Your Short Bio

Your short bio appears on your profile and gives prospective students a quick snapshot of who you are as a teacher. It has a 100-character limit, so think of it as a punchy one or two sentence tagline rather than a full introduction.

Where to Edit Your Bio

1. Go to your teacher dashboard.
2. Navigate to your profile settings.
3. Find the Short Bio section and click to edit.
4. Write or update your bio, then save your changes.

What to Include

With only 100 characters to work with, focus on the two or three details that matter most:

• What you teach (instrument, genre, or style)
• Your experience or background
• Who you teach (beginners, all levels, children, adults, etc.)

Tips

• Count your characters as you write — 100 goes quickly.
• Lead with what students care about most: what you teach and who you teach.
• Write in the first person ("I teach…") to feel approachable.
• Avoid filler words and save space for the details that matter.
• Proofread for typos. A polished bio signals professionalism.
