Setting Your Location on Your Profile

Adding your location to your Tissimo profile helps students understand your timezone and lets Tissimo display your availability in their local time. It also gives prospective students helpful context about where you are based.

How to Set Your Location

1. Go to your Teacher Dashboard and click Edit Profile, or navigate directly to Edit Profile.
2. Scroll to the Location section.
3. Select your Country from the dropdown list.
4. Enter your Province (or state/region) in the text field.
5. Click Save.

Your location is saved and immediately reflected on your public profile.

Why Location Matters

• Timezone display: Tissimo displays your availability in each student's local time automatically. This reduces scheduling confusion and missed lessons. To fine-tune your scheduling times, see Time Preferences.
• Regional context: Some students prefer teachers in a similar timezone for convenient scheduling. Your province and country are shown on your profile, which helps students who prefer teachers in a similar region.
• Trust and credibility: Knowing roughly where a teacher is located makes them feel more real and trustworthy to prospective students.

Privacy: What Students See

Tissimo shows only your province and country on your public profile. Your exact street address is never displayed. You are not required to enter a specific neighbourhood or postal code — the province or region level is sufficient.

Updating Your Location

If you move, update your location immediately so that your availability times remain accurate for students in your new timezone. Follow the same steps above to change your province and country. The change takes effect as soon as you save. You can also manage your personal information in Settings, and review your availability settings to ensure your schedule is up to date.
