Responding to Student Reviews
When a student leaves a review on your profile, you have the opportunity to respond publicly. A thoughtful response shows prospective students that you are engaged, professional, and care about your students' experience.
How to Respond to a Review
- Go to your Course Management page.
- Click on the course that received the review to open the course detail view.
- Scroll to the Reviews section and find the review you want to respond to.
- Click Respond.
- Write your response and submit it.
Your response will appear publicly on your profile, directly below the student's review.
Best Practices for Responding
Every response you write is visible to future students browsing your profile. Keep these guidelines in mind:
For Positive Reviews
- Thank the student for their feedback and for sharing their experience.
- Mention something specific from your lessons together to make the response personal.
- Keep it brief and genuine — a few sentences is enough.
For Critical Reviews
- Stay professional and calm. Avoid being defensive or dismissive.
- Acknowledge the student's perspective, even if you see things differently.
- If appropriate, explain what you are doing to improve or offer context that may help future students understand the situation.
- Keep the tone constructive — prospective students will judge you by how you handle criticism.
Why Responding Matters
Students pay attention to how teachers engage with feedback. A teacher who responds thoughtfully to reviews — both positive and negative — comes across as invested in their craft and their students' growth.
Regular responses also keep your profile active and signal to prospective students that you are engaged on the platform.
Things to Avoid
- Do not share private details about a student or their lessons.
- Avoid arguing or getting into a back-and-forth in public responses.
- Do not use responses as a space to promote or advertise — keep the focus on the student's feedback.
